July 2017- Dividend Update

A rainy sunday morning, what a perfect day to start a blog. So, here goes nothing!

EWTGR

I am a straight to the point kind of guy, so my posts will be as well. Enjoy!

Here are the dividends I have received in July 2017.

TFSA:

  • Telus (T): $26.60
  • Financial 15 (FTN): $601.22
  • Enbridge Income Fund Holdings (ENF): $10.09
  • Park Lawn Corp (PLC): $19.87

Total: $657.78

Last year in July 2016 I had received a total of $547.41, which represents a YoY increase of 20.2% (see graph).

I am quite happy with the progress so I’ve made so far, but I am still not on track to achieving my $8,000 goal for 2017 (see graph).

Plan:

1- I have made a significant transfer from my TFSA to my RRSP, this is my first contribution ever to my RRSP. The tax returns I will receive from this contribution (in apr 2018) will serve as a catalyst for my dividend growth and will be re-injected straight into my RRSP.

2- I also took advantage of my newly opened RRSP to acquire some new grounds, notably Rogers Sugar Inc (RSI) and Dream Global REIT (DRG.UN). I have also added to my position in Savaria Corp (SIS). These will pay dividends in the upcoming months, and help towards reaching my yearly goal.

Hope you enjoyed the read! Stay tuned for more.

  1. I really like that your blog post is really straight to the point. From a financial perspective, I also like the numbers ๐Ÿ˜›

From a blogging perspective, I would suggest to but links in the last sentence: ‘Donโ€™t forget to check out my Youtube Channel and Twitter!’ ๐Ÿ™‚

Keep up the good work (on the blog and dividends).
