July 2018 – Dividend Update

I’m already late in posting this, and still quite busy, so I’ll be brief.

Here are the dividends I’ve received in July 2018 from both of my investing accounts:

TFSA:

  • Financial 15 (FTN): $191.44
  • Savaria Corp (SIS): $22.53
  • Telus Corp (T): $28.35
  • Enbridge Income Fund Holdings (ENF): $18.45
  • Park Lawn Corp (PLC): $27.63
  • Sienna Senior Living (SIA): $18.90
  • Medical Facilities Corp (DR): $30.56

RRSP:

  • Financial 15 (FTN): $378.99
  • Savaria Corp (SIS): $2.1
  • Enbridge Income Fund Holdings (ENF): $9.98
  • Dream Global REIT (DRG.UN): $19.87
  • Realty Income (O): $12.67
  • New Residential Investment Corp (NRZ): $79.99

Total: $841.46

Last year, in July 2017, I had received a total of $657.78, which represents a YoY increase of 27.9% (see graph).

This month brings me up to $5,395.46 in total annual dividends, which means I still have over roughly $4,600 to go if I want to reach my goal of $10,000 by the end of the year. Not too bad, at least the halfway mark is behind me!

Sales:

TFSA:

  • Metro Inc (MRU) 25 shares (entire position)
  • Enbridge Income Holding Fund (ENF) 98 Shares (entire position)

Purchases:

TFSA:

  • Medical Facilities Corp (DR) 140 Shares
  • Telus (T) 24 Shares
  • Sienna Senior Living (SIA) 76 Shares

Extra Shares from DRIP:

  • FTN :  56 Shares
  • DRG.UN:  1 Share
  • DR:  2 Shares
  • SIA: 1 Share
  • PLC: 1 Share

Dividend Raises:

  • From what I know there were no dividend increases.

Forward Annual Dividend:

My current annual forward dividend total is $9,867.68. As I’ve said before, this number is more important to me than the actual dividends received. I’m only $136.32 away from generating $10,000 in passive income on a yearly basis!

2018 Plan / Update:

1- Initiate more positions and gain exposure to new US positions.

2- Max out my TFSA and RRSP. No contributions this month, and unlikely to be any for a little while. I expect November and December to be big months.

3- Re-organize my US and Canadian positions. Not a priority but will happen as I move along.

Let me hear about your month! Comment below with a link 🙂

As always, thank you so much for reading these updates!

  1. At the current state and price of FTN, are you looking to buy/hold/sell on this position? I am looking to buy this stock but am unsure of the long term output.
    Thanks!

  2. Hi,
Last month you mentioned BEP. I’ve looked into it and bought some shares. Fits nicely between my other (classic) utilities-stocks. Thanks for that one.

Regarding your FTN-position: it’s quite large compared with your other positions. Care to explain why your purchases are this unbalanced? Thanks!
    Regards,
    Tom
